conference and web-cast moderator and chairs many international energy & business conferences around the

Eithne has worked as an international television journalist for ABC News, Sky News, BBC World, Bloomberg Television and CNBC Europe. She has interviewed thousands of
leading politicians, dignitaries, energy ministers and high-ranking business people. She contributed to Dubai Eye radio and writes for Gulf Business magazine.

She has also worked as a training consultant with international training and PR companies and has trained business journalists in UAE, Saudi-Arabia, Russia, Pakistan
and South Africa. She taught practical journalism at Marquette University in the USA and she began her TV career in Chicago. She is a politics & sociology graduate of Trinity
College Dublin, a Broadcast Communications graduate from Columbia College Chicago and she has a post-graduate diploma in International Relations from the London School
of Economics. She is a founding member of The Frontline Club in London and the Irish Business Network in Dubai. She is also a member of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce,
the Dubai chapter of the International Business Women's Group and the Arab International Women's Forum

Ali Al Mashjari is a UAE engineer with a long experienced in both refineries and Power generation and water production plant. His long 19 years’ experience started with one of the region’s leading companies in Oil and Gas ADNOC.

Ali joined ADNOC in 1995 as a fresh graduate right after completing his studies in DeVry Institute of Technologies in the United States as BSc in Electronics Engineering.

Since 2008 until today Ali is the Production Manager in the Regulation and Supervision Bureau in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, works in the power and production unit, helping to ensure sufficient and reliable supplies of electricity and potable water for fast growing Abu Dhabi.
  Graeme Sims  
Graeme Sims
Executive Director, Regulatory & Supervisory Bureau, Dubai
Graeme Sims has over twenty years experience of regulation of the water and electricity industries, gained in the UK and UAE. He established Abu Dhabi's Regulation and Supervision Bureau in the late '90s and was its first Director General.

Before joining Dubai's RSB he was Director of Regulation at United Utilities, the UK's largest stock market listed water company. He was Deputy Director General at the UK's Office of Electricity Regulation where he was responsible for the electricity industry in Scotland.

He is a graduate in economics from Oxford University and his early career was in consulting with the Boston Consulting Group.
  Gürkan Kumbaroğlu  
Professor Gurkan Kumbaroglu, President, Turkish Association of Energy Economics (TRAEE); Vice President, International Association of Energy Economics (IAEE)
Prof.Dr. Gürkan Kumbaroğlu is a Professor of Industrial Engineering at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey. He is an Editorial Board member of the Sustainability Journal, Molecular Diversity Preservation International, and of the Journal for Innovative Energy Policies. Dr. Kumbaroğlu serves on various energy and environment related scientific boards in Turkey. He has received several international awards, and published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals as well as several book chapters on energy and environmental policy modeling. He is the President of the Turkish Association for Energy Economics EED and the Vice President of the International Association for Energy Economics IAEE. He is a member of the Executive and Supervisory Board of the Centre for Economics and Foreign Policy Studies EDAM. He is a Council member of the Turkish Assocation for Sustainable Production and Consumption SUT-D.
  Kenneth Mckellar  
Kenneth McKellar, Partner and Middle East Energy & Resources Leader, Deloitte & Touche
Ken is a Deloitte Partner and Middle East Energy & Resources Leader based in Abu Dhabi. He has 30 years of experience in oil and gas, gained from working across professional services, investment banking and industry, and has been active in oil-and gas-related techno-economic projects in the Middle East for the past 13 years. He has lived in the GCC for the past 4 years.

Ken’s career at Deloitte has included leading Deloitte’s Petroleum Services group for eight years, managing 60 people with upstream technical backgrounds in seven worldwide locations. He has been a senior investment banker at UBS in Zurich and a director of one of the UK’s leading independent investment banks, focusing always on oil and gas.

  Omar Al Wahibi  
Omar Al Wahaibi, CEO, Electricity Holding Company Oman
Omar Al-Wahaibi has been appointed on November 2011 as EHC’s CEO. Previously, Omar was the CEO for Haya Water (Oman Wastewater Services Company S.A.O.C.) since its establishment in 2003. He holds a BSC Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Institute of Science and Technology at the University of Manchester and began his career at Petroleum Development Oman where he held different positions. He then served in Shell from 1998 until 2001. He was also a Board Member at the Public Authority for Electricity and Water and the Chairman of the Board for Mazoon Electricity Company.
  Saeed Al Abbar  
Saeed Al Abbar, Director, AESG
Saeed is a Director at AESG, a firm specialising in the provision of energy and sustainability consultancy in the Middle East. He holds a First Class Masters degree with honours in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bath and is a LEED Accredited Professional and Estidama Pearl Qualified Professional.

In his role at AESG, Saeed has been involved in managing and directing a variety of sustainable design and construction projects throughout the Middle East. These have included some of the largest and most prestigious master plan developments in the region, high rise buildings, housing development and critical infrastructure. Since establishment, the firm has developed a strong reputation in the region for delivering high quality sustainability and energy consultancy.

Saeed has authored a number of papers on the application of sustainability in the UAE and MENA region and has consequently presented at a number of local, regional and international conferences on the topic of sustainability, with a particular focus on the application of cost effective sustainability in the MENA region. As well as presenting at industry conferences, Saeed has also presented a policy paper at the United Nations Regional Policy Dialogue in 2012 on policy measures that would be effective in tackling the regions energy and sustainability challenges.

Saeed regularly provides training to industry professionals on green building and energy efficient design techniques.

As well as his professional role as Director of AESG, Saeed is currently the Vice Chairman of the Emirates Green Building Council and sits on the Steering Committee for the World Green Building Council MENA Network. In this role, Saeed actively works in promoting the advancement of sustainable building in the UAE and MENA region by working with industry, academia and government departments to develop collaborative solutions to some of the regions greatest challenges.

In 2010, Saeed was awarded the title of International Young Consultant of the Year by British Expertise in the UK. In 2012, Saeed was named in Gulf Business’s top 30 achievers in the MENA region under the age of 30.
  Tayeb Al Awadhi  
Tayeb M. M. H. Al Awadhi, Vice President, Power and Desalination, Dubai Aluminium
Tayeb Al Awadhi , Vice President of Power and Desalination at DUBAL, has an obsession to improve the availability, reliability and efficiency of the Combined Cycle Power Plants and Co-generation Plant that constitute the generating capacity of 2,334 MW at DUBAL’s Jebel Ali smelter complex.

Tayeb holds a Masters Degree in Engineering Science, from University Collage Dublin, Ireland in 1991 and joined DUBAL in the same year as a Project Engineer. His vast experience as Efficiency, Commissioning, Project and Maintenance Engineer/Manager led to his current post. He is also a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

Under Tayeb’s leadership, DUBAL’s P&D operations have successfully achieved world-class safety, health and environmental (land, water and air) targets as set by international, regional and local municipal agencies. He has also helped to raise the profile of DUBAL substantially within Dubai, and contributed to significant improvements in the company’s EHS performance on all fronts.

His lean-lean approach to implementation has resulted in major-cost saving initiatives. DUBAL’s Power & Desalination operations are the most cost-effective among similar industries, both regionally as internationally. Driven to find innovative solutions, Tayeb’s use of 9E components in 9B machines had never been tried elsewhere and was a first even for the manufacturers. Moreover, through effective negotiation, Tayeb has saved DUBAL over $5 million via long-term service and supply agreements with OEMs.
